ECOS Eye Hospital Promotes Road Safety with Free Eye Testing for Truckers

As part of the Road Safety Month celebrations (1st–31st January 2025), ECOS Eye Hospital, in collaboration with the Ganjam Truck Owner's Association, organized a mobile van camp for free eye testing of truckers on January 5, 2025. This initiative aimed to raise awareness about road safety and ensure better eye health among truckers, who play a crucial role in road transportation.

The camp offered free eye testing for truckers, subsidized spectacles, and referrals to higher centers for those requiring advanced treatment. In addition, truckers received health education on refractive errors, common eye diseases such as cataracts and glaucoma, and preventive measures to maintain good eye health.

More than 120 truckers participated in the program, benefiting from on-the-spot eye care services and educational sessions. The camp was graced by local district officials and senior staff members from ECOS Eye Hospital, highlighting the significance of this effort in promoting road safety and addressing the health needs of the trucking community.

With 34 years of dedicated service, ECOS Eye Hospital has been at the forefront of providing comprehensive and inclusive eye care to communities across Ganjam and nearby districts of Odisha. This camp underscores ECOS’s commitment to delivering accessible eye care services and fostering awareness about eye health to reduce preventable vision impairments.
